Greetings from a small town girl who has always loved to design and sew.

Growing up in the heart of Niagara, Ontario – Canada’s wine country – I couldn’t stay away and moved back with my husband and children a few years ago.

Starting up my small business selling children’s clothing on Etsy, I then moved forward to designing and creating truly unique outfits for photography purposes in 2013. Designing is my passion and I find inspiration in my four children, in fashion from days of long ago, and in my love for textiles and lace.

I have been blessed to work side by side with family who have helped me make Mia Joy Studio what it is today. Those perfectly sewn outfits are the handiwork of my mom, aunt and creative friends new and old. Behind the scenes, you will find my husband helping me manage administration, my eager little girls affixing mailing labels, and more family and friends preparing and cutting fabric and trim.

On packaging days you will find my younger sister and me hard at work, ensuring everything is perfectly packaged and sent off in a timely manner.

Locally sourced vintage items are incorporated into a number of my pieces. Some new laces, trims and fabrics are hand-dyed to compliment the vintage look.

All of our items are hand-made with quality materials. You may find slight differences in fabric, trim and design which we feel truly portray the beauty of small cottage–industry pieces. No two items are exactly alike. When you open one of our packages, we hope you find the truly unique beauty of the hand-made.
